যে পদ্ধতিতে কোনো দ্রবণের ঘনমাত্রা লঘু করা হয় তাকে লঘুকরণ বলে। সাধারণত ৫টি ধাপে কোনো দ্রবণের ঘনমাত্রা লঘু করতে হয়। কোনো দ্রবণের লঘুকরণের সমীকরণ হলো– M1 × V1 = M2 × (V1 + V2)।
